Q. Does your office take insurance?

A. Our office does not take insurance directly. We offer a complementary benefits check to see if your insurance has any out of network benefits. If you do, we can send you a superbill after each session for you to submit to your insurance for direct reimbursement.

 

Q. Do you offer sessions in-person or virtually?

A. Our office offers both in person and virtual sessions, whatever is easier for the client.

 

Q. What is the cost of the sessions and how long are they?

A. The intake session is 90 minutes and the fee is $225. The following sessions are 45 minutes and the fee is $175 per session.

 

Q. Can I come to therapy if I live in a different state?

A. At The Therapy Institute, we have clinicians who are licensed in multiple states in addition to New Jersey such as North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan, Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. The counselor you are seeing must be licensed in the state where your feet are located.

 

Q: Can I request a specific therapist?

A. Yes! If you saw a clinician on our “About Us” page and feel they would be a good fit for you, you can request them. If you are unsure who would be a good fit, our team will work to discover the best therapist for you.

 

Q: How often should I attend therapy?

A. This is different for everyone. Some people benefit from therapy weekly while others do best with bi-weekly sessions. During the intake session, your clinician will discuss the frequency of sessions best recommended for you.

Q: How do I prepare for my first session?

A. Our intake coordinator will send you intake documents to fill out through Simple Practice. After those documents are filled out, you are all ready for your intake session. One tip we like to suggest to clients is preparing a journal of some therapy goals you have and what symptoms you are currently navigating. You may even like to create a timeline about your mental health journey.
